Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Senior Estimator to manage and assist in creating accurate project estimates across multiple project types. This role requires leadership in the preconstruction process, coordination with architects and owners, and delivery of bid-ready proposals.

Qualified candidates will have extensive experience in commercial estimating, knowledge of all construction systems, and proficiency with Destini Estimator, BlueBeam, Assemble, Revit and Primavera.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction related field or equivalent education and experience.
• Over seven years' experience in estimating commercial construction projects, demonstrating competence in hard-bid, design-build, and conceptual estimating.
• Knowledge of all construction systems and disciplines to complete comprehensive cost estimates.
• Experience in self-performed concrete construction.
• Experience estimating at all design stages: conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction documents.
• Proven knowledge of Target Value Design and proven bidding strategies.
• Proficient with Destini Estimator, BlueBeam, Assemble, and related software.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while coordinating team members.
• Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
• Excellent knowledge of construction practices and familiarity with Revit and Primavera.

Responsibilities

• Prepares estimates and supplementary information for potential projects.
• Reads, understands, and offers improvements to contract documents with value-engineering options.
• Performs quantity take-offs, pricing, and data analysis.
• Prepares bid proposals and attends owner meetings during estimate development.
• Coordinates with architects, owners, subs, and suppliers; solicits bids and quotes.
• Develops detailed schedules for proposed projects and initiates special estimating projects.
