Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Pre-Construction Manager in Honolulu, Hawaii. This role leads the SBU's pre-construction activities, guiding estimating and planning support personnel to deliver accurate budgets and reliable pricing information.

You will coordinate with marketing, BD, and clients to secure profitable projects. The position requires five years of construction experience, a relevant degree, and strong communication and PC skills.

Qualifications

• BS in Construction Management or related field.
• Minimum five years of construction-related experience.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business publications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient PC skills including email, databases, word processing.
• Experience with CMiC preferred.
• Knowledge of estimating software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-construction activities for the SBU.
• Oversee estimating and planning support personnel.
• Monitor budgeting and buy-out processes to provide reliable estimate data.
• Coordinate cost history sharing for pricing insights.
• Interface with marketing to consider brand and information.
• Oversee sales activities and client relationships.
• Plan training for estimators and business development professionals.
• Manage procurement strategies and bid/proposal responses.
• Lead project review meetings and resolve budget issues.
• Supervise Estimating and Business Development teams.
