Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Pre-Construction Manager in Hawaii to lead pre-construction activities and drive successful project outcomes. You will oversee estimating, planning, and business development, ensuring cost controls, accurate budgeting, and strong client engagement.

The role requires leadership of estimating and planning support personnel, collaboration with marketing, and delivery of training.

Qualifications

• BS in Construction Management, Marketing and/or Communication or related field or equivalent experience.
• Five years of construction-related experience.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business materials and regulations.
• Ability to write reports and procedures.
• Ability to present information to groups of managers, clients and the public.
• Proficient PC skills including email, record keeping, databases, word processing, spreadsheets.
• Experience with CMiC preferred.
• Knowledge of estimating software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimating and planning support teams.
• Oversee sales activities, procurement strategies and client relationships.
• Coordinate with marketing to incorporate relevant information and brand consideration.
• Plan and implement training for estimators and BD professionals.
• Oversee budgeting, cost history and pricing information for better estimation.
• Identify profitable projects and oversee business development activities.
• Supervise Estimating and Business Development staff.
