Job summary

Turner Construction Company seeks a skilled estimator to support Lead Estimators in all preconstruction functions during the launch. The role includes value engineering, budget controls, and bid development with current pricing and trade input.

Responsibilities include collaborating with project teams, performing quantity take-offs, and delivering complete GMP and bid documents. The position requires strong communication and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or related field with 8+ years of experience.
• Experience in project engineering, field supervision or purchasing.
• Knowledge of construction materials, systems and trade practices.
• Ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings and schedules.
• Strong written and verbal communication and ability to manage deadlines.
• Supervisory or management experience and travel required.

Responsibilities

• Support Lead Estimators and Preconstruction Manager in estimating during the preconstruction launch.
• Perform quantity take-offs, analyses, and pricing with current data and trade input.
• Coordinate bid lists with procurement and develop comparison analyses.
• Lead or support GMP and lump-sum bid processes and document assembly.
• Review design documents, identify gaps and request information for complete estimates.
• Lead meetings with owner, architect and engineer to discuss estimates and variances.
• Utilize BIM for quantity take-off and visualization to support estimates.
• Participate in the hiring process and support performance feedback for staff.
