Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Philadelphia is seeking an experienced Preconstruction Estimator to support Lead Estimators throughout the launch phase. You will help develop complete GMP estimates with current pricing and trade input.

As part of the preconstruction team, you will coordinate bid lists, lead review meetings with owners and architects, and provide pricing for value engineering and options. A Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or similar field and minimum of 8 years of experience, or equivalent
• Experience in project engineering, field supervision or purchasing is preferred
• Strong understanding of construction materials, systems, market conditions and trade practices
• Ability to read, interpret contract documents, drawings, specs, scopes of work and project schedule
• Proficient in estimating documents and able to assess qualitative and quantitative data
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Travel as required

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Project Preconstruction Manager and Preconstruction Manager in estimating during the preconstruction phase launch process
• Coordinate trade partner bid lists with procurement for budget pricing and bidding
• Lead review meetings with owner, architect, and engineer related to Preconstruction phase
• Prepare comparison analyses to explain variances for stakeholders
• Visit project sites to evaluate conditions and capture scope not in design documents
• Perform quantity take-off and analysis for assigned trades and building systems
• Provide pricing for value engineering, alternates, options and studies
• Utilize BIM for quantity take-off and visualization to support estimates
• Prepare bid forms and recording sheets, evaluate input for scope inclusion
• Ensure complete pricing within estimate or GMP and reflect recent bids
• Participate in estimate and GMP review meetings with architects, engineers, owners
