Job summary

Rosendin is seeking a Senior Estimator in California to lead bid estimates for electrical construction projects. You will review drawings, coordinate with estimators, suppliers, and customers to prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering, 4+ years of estimating experience, and proficiency with estimating tools such as Accubid, Livecount Cloud, and Bluebeam. Occasional travel may be involved.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret blueprints and/or engineering design drawings.
• Perform arithmetic calculations required for estimating.
• Estimate all types of projects and coordinate group work.
• Mentor estimators and develop talent.
• Identify customers’ needs and requirements.
• Experience with Accubid, Livecount Cloud, and Bluebeam preferred.
• Experience with CAD or 3D software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimate from quantity take-off and generate detailed cost estimate.
• Review proposal specs, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to define scope.
• Develop labor productivity and unit costs based on site conditions.
• Solicit quotes from qualified suppliers and subcontractors.
• Lead discipline sub-estimates and ensure documentation backs up estimates.
• Draft scope/proposal letters for bids and negotiated projects.
• Provide detailed review of scope and pricing to Chief Estimator before bid.
• Explain project scope during turnover meetings.
