M. J. Electric in Denver, CO is seeking a Senior Estimator for industrial projects nationwide.

This role leads technical scope development, develops cost estimates and resource requirements for industrial and commercial electrical construction, and supports proposals from pre- to post-bid. You will prepare estimates, perform material take-offs, analyze time, equipment and manpower, maintain cost databases, and collaborate with operations and clients to ensure competitive bids.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of estimating, project management or field related experience in the industrial and commercial electrical construction industry (Preferred).
• BS/BA in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or equivalent industry experience (Preferred).
• Proficient in Excel and estimating software (Accubid or similar).
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of technical scope of work and cost estimates for industrial and commercial electrical construction projects.
• Prepare pre-approval estimates from limited information and general scopes of work.
• Perform material takeoffs and cost analyses to support estimates.
• Develop pricing schedules and weighting criteria for proposals.
• Interface with customers, vendors and subcontractors to determine project costs.
• Provide oversight and technical expertise for all aspects of electrical construction projects.
