Job summary

M.J. Electric is seeking a Senior Estimator – Industrial to lead cost estimation for large electrical construction projects nationwide. You will develop scope, perform take-offs, and collaborate with customers, vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitive bids.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in estimating within industrial/commercial electrical construction, with proficiency in Accubid and MS Office. Travel to field locations and coordination with the project team are required.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or equivalent industry experience (Preferred).
• 10+ years of estimating, project management or field related experience in the industrial and commercial electrical construction industry (Preferred).
• Experience with industrial or commercial electrical construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of technical scope of work and cost estimates for industrial and commercial projects nationwide.
• Prepare pre-approval estimates from limited information and general scopes of work.
• Develop detailed post-approval estimates based on standards and site drawings.
• Perform material take-offs and cost analyses to support estimates.
• Interface with customers, vendors and subcontractors to determine project costs.
• Assist with bid preparation, pricing schedules and proposal documents.
• Provide oversight and expert cost judgment for competitive bids and negotiated contracts.
• Turn over bid documents to Operations timely for project transition.
