Job summary

M.J. Electric, LLC is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead the development of cost estimates for industrial and commercial electrical construction nationwide.

You will craft detailed takeoffs, analyze resources, and prepare robust proposals to drive competitive bids and successful project delivery. Ideal candidates bring 10+ years of estimating experience, proficiency with Accubid or similar software, and a track record of working with vendors, customers, and internal teams to optimize pricing and

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel; estimating software familiarity.
• BS/BA in Engineering or related field; 10+ years in industrial/commercial electrical estimating.

Responsibilities

• Assist with RFP prep, evaluations, specs, and pricing schedules.
• Prepare pre-approval estimates from limited information.
• Scope projects for engineering, construction, and contractual needs.
• Develop post-approval estimates based on company standards and drawings.
• Perform material take-offs and cost analyses.
• Develop pricing schedules and weighting criteria for bids.
• Maintain items and assemblies in estimating software.
• Provide expert cost judgment for bids and negotiated contracts.
• Develop historical cost databases and estimation tools.
• Oversee electrical construction estimates across industrial/commercial markets.
• Review plans and specs to determine project costs.
