Job summary

SES Constructors LLC is seeking a Lead Estimator for our Civil Construction Business Line. The role focuses on self-perform heavy civil cost estimating, risk analysis, and collaboration with field and office teams.

A strong background in earthwork, utilities, dam/levee related work and road/highway projects is expected. The position is remote, with EST or CST timing, occasional travel, and a competitive benefits package including 401(k) matching and generous PTO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or civil engineering.
• Minimum 10 years’ estimating experience in heavy civil construction.
• Experience estimating federal projects preferred.
• Ability to read/interpret contract documents and schedules.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Produce self-perform heavy civil cost estimates based on project size/scope.
• Provide quantity takeoff information for materials and costs.
• Identify, source, and analyze subcontractor/vendor quotes for best value.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Prepare and submit inquiries to clients regarding drawings/specifications/scopes.
• Collaborate with in-house field/office teams for estimates.
• Meet interim milestones for constructability/productivity reviews.
• Support constructability reviews with project team and subcontractors.
• Obtain and vet subcontractor/supplier pricing to cover scope.
