Job summary

SES Constructors LLC is seeking a Lead Estimator for our growing Civil Construction division. The role focuses on producing detailed estimates from plans, specs and scopes of work, with emphasis on self-perform heavy civil work and risk assessment. Remote coordination is expected with occasional site interaction.

A strong background in federal project estimating is preferred. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in construction management or civil engineering and at least 10 years

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or civil engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years’ estimating experience in heavy civil construction.
• Experience reading and interpreting contract documents, drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Produce self-perform heavy civil cost estimates based on project size, scope, and mix.
• Provide quantity takeoffs to detail materials and total costs.
• Source and analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes for best-value bids.
• Identify risks and plan mitigation for estimates and projects.
• Prepare inquiries to clients regarding drawings, specs and scopes of work.
• Collaborate with field and office teams on estimate preparation.
• Support constructability reviews and alternate approaches as needed.
• Vet subcontractor pricing to ensure comprehensive coverage.
