Gilbane Building is seeking an Estimating Manager to oversee all estimating needs across multiple projects or a single large complex project in Arlington, VA. The role emphasizes technical rigor, teamwork, and leadership in a family-owned contractor with a long-standing reputation.

The ideal candidate will lead the estimating process, develop deliverables, and coordinate with operations, accounting, VDC, purchasing, and the design team while managing a team of estimators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management
• 8–15+ years of relevant estimating experience
• Experience leading estimating efforts across multiple projects and collaborating with operations, design, and BD teams

Responsibilities

• Leads the estimating process and deliverables for multiple concurrent projects or a single large/complex project through the design phase
• Develops estimating deliverables for multiple project types and delivery methods
• Prepares preliminary conceptual cost estimates and budgets with clarifications of costing assumptions
• Collaborates with operations, accounting, VDC, purchasing, and scheduling
• Coordinates with senior leadership, preconstruction, operations, and business development on all deliverables
• Supervises a team of estimators to develop large, multi-disciplinary estimates
• Leads the value management process to reduce price and increase value
• Represents Gilbane with owners, design teams, and industry partners
