Job summary

Gilbane Building Company seeks a Senior Estimator to lead full-project estimating efforts, coordinating with preconstruction, operations, and BD teams. You will mentor junior staff, develop cost models, and ensure accuracy across complex bids.

The role emphasizes leadership in the estimating process, conceptual pricing, and collaboration with owners and design teams to align with project schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management required.
• 5–10+ years relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to lead the estimating process and deliverables.
• Experience with On-Screen Take-off, Destini, and site work software.
• Ability to present estimating deliverables and participate in interviews during the pursuit phase.
• Ability to conceptual estimate projects with limited information.
• Experience estimating multiple facility types and delivery methods.
• Ability to collaborate with Owners, designers, and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Leads the estimating deliverable for an entire project.
• Coordinates development of Site Services costs with operations and preconstruction teams.
• Develops cost estimates and budgets with limited information and documents costing assumptions.
• Reviews project plans, requirements, and specifications.
• Coaches and mentors a team of estimators.
• Determines labor and equipment costs and contingencies.
• Reviews bid documents and assesses project risks.
• Understands project logistics and aligns with schedule.
• Assists operations in bid package development and bid analysis.
• Interacts with clients to ensure satisfaction and supports interviews.
