Job summary

RTX is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer in Tucson, AZ, focusing on EO/IR or RF signal processing within the PG&C Center. You will design, prototype, test, and optimize signal processing algorithms for sensor data used in missile systems and assist in hardware integration.

The role requires a STEM degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, and the ability to obtain an Interim Secret clearance. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) required.
• Experience with EO/IR, RF, or related signal processing domains beneficial.
• Proficiency in C, C++, Java, or C# with strong OO background.
• Experience in algorithm design, implementation, and testing/performance optimization.
• Ability to obtain/maintain Interim Secret U.S. security clearance and program access.

Responsibilities

• Apply advanced signal processing knowledge to missile systems programs.
• Develop, modify, and test signal processing algorithms and models.
• Test and validate sensor models in engineering labs against requirements.
• Integrate algorithms into hardware across development phases from start to live-fire tests.
• Mentor team members and share expertise across disciplines.
