Job summary

RTX’s Processing, Guidance and Controls (PG&C) Center in Tucson, AZ, seeks a Principal Systems Engineer – EO/IR or RF Signal Processing. You will design, develop, prototype, and test advanced signal processing algorithms used to calibrate and fuse sensor data for missile systems.

You will work onsite in Tucson, collaborating across disciplines to integrate algorithms with hardware, mentor teammates, and support system-level reviews from concept through live-fire tests.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Signal processing experience in EO/IR, RF, Sonar, or Acoustic domains.
• Proficiency in C and/or object‑oriented languages (C++, C#, Java).
• Experience with algorithm design, implementation, testing, and optimization.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Interim Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Apply advanced signal processing knowledge to support missile program objectives.
• Use and modify simulations for design, prototyping, integration, testing, and performance assessment of signal processing algorithms and models.
• Test and validate sensor models and algorithm performance in engineering labs.
• Focus on hardware integration and collaborate across development phases from startup to live-fire testing.
• Share knowledge and mentor multiple team members.
