Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer for EO/IR or RF signal processing to drive design, development, and integration of advanced sensor processing algorithms. You will work hands-on across simulations, lab testing, and live-fire readiness, shaping performance across multiple programs.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years in STEM, strong C/C++/Python skills, and experience with EO/IR or RF domains, with ability to obtain interim and eventual secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
• Signal processing experience in EO/IR, RF, Sonar, and/or Acoustic domains.
• Experience with the C programming language, or Object-Oriented Programming with C++, C#, or Java.
• Experience with algorithm design, implementation, analysis, testing, and/or optimization.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Interim Secret U.S. government issued Security Clearance is required prior to start date.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, prototyping, integration, testing, and performance assessment of RF/EOIR signal processing algorithms and models.
• Use and modify simulations for design, development, prototyping, integration, testing, and performance assessment of signal processing algorithms.
• Participate in engineering lab environments to test, verify, and validate sensor models and signal processing algorithm performance.
• Focus on integration of algorithms into hardware and collaborate across development phases from start-up to live-fire testing.
• Mentor and share knowledge with multiple team members.
