Job summary

RTX is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer – EO/IR or RF Signal Processing for our PG&C Center in Tucson, AZ. This onsite role collaborates across design, development, prototyping, integration, testing, and performance assessment of RF or EO/IR signal processing algorithms and models used in missile systems.

You will mentor team members, contribute to hardware integration, and support live-fire testing while maintaining the ability to obtain Interim Secret clearance and eventual program access.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM with minimum 8 years of experience.
• Experience in EO/IR, RF, Sonar, or Acoustic signal processing domains.
• Proficiency in C/C++ or OOP languages (C++, C#, Java).
• Experience with algorithm design, implementation, testing, and optimization.
• Ability to obtain Interim Secret clearance and progress to higher access.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support advanced signal processing for missile systems programs.
• Use and adapt simulations to design, prototype, integrate, test, and assess signal processing algorithms.
• Participate in lab environments to verify sensor models and algorithm performance against requirements.
• Drive integration of algorithms into hardware and contribute across development phases, including design reviews and briefings.
• Mentor and share knowledge with team members and colleagues across disciplines.
