Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer specializing in EO/IR or RF signal processing to join the Processing, Guidance and Controls Center. You will design, develop, test, and integrate signal processing algorithms with hardware, contributing across life-cycle phases from concept to live-fire validation.

The role requires a STEM degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, proficiency in C/C++/Java, and the ability to obtain an interim security clearance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
• Signal processing experience in EO/IR, RF, Sonar, and/or Acoustic domains.
• Experience with the C programming language, or Object-Oriented Programming with C++, C#, and/or Java.
• Experience with algorithm design, implementation, analysis, testing, and/or optimization.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Interim Secret U.S. government issued Security Clearance is required prior to start date.

Responsibilities

• Act with advanced to expert knowledge of signal processing to support budget, schedule, development, execution, and completion of difficult missile systems program objectives.
• Use and modify simulations for design, development, prototyping, integration, testing, and performance assessment of signal processing algorithms and models.
• Participate in engineering lab environments to test, verify, and validate sensor models and signal processing algorithm performance per requirements.
• Focus on integration of algorithms into hardware and collaborate across development phases from start-up to live-fire testing.
• Share knowledge and mentor multiple team members.
