Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Environmental Risk Assessor to support Human Health and Ecological projects within the Environmental Services Group. The role focuses on regulatory compliance across federal, state, and local environmental projects in CDM Smith’s portfolio.

You will assist with risk assessments, data quality objectives, and sampling plans, collaborating with scientists, engineers, and toxicologists to implement approved approaches and provide technical guidance to

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Science or related discipline or Master's degree with registration/certification.
7 years of related experience.
Travel may be required; frequency contingent on duties and workload.
Equivalent additional directly related experience considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

Supports site investigations and analysis for human health risk assessments (HHRAs) and ecological risk assessments (ERAs).
Contributes to development of DQOs, QAPPs, and SAPs.
Assists in planning for CSEMs, HHRAs, SLERAs, and BERAs.
Collaborates with scientists, geologists, engineers, and toxicologists on project approaches.
Provides technical evaluation of project documents on oversight projects.
Mentors junior staff and supports growth within the discipline.
Collaborates with sales staff to support RFP responses.
Contributes to technical knowledge with white papers on environmental issues.
Attends conferences and contributes to visibility of firm’s products and services.
Performs other duties as required.
