Job summary

Nava Public Benefit Corp is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to grow and mentor a team while contributing as a technical leader. You will guide the design, development, and delivery of cloud-native solutions in support of Nava's public good mission.

You will balance people management with hands-on architecture work, collaborating with product, security, and government stakeholders to deliver robust systems and clear technical roadmaps.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in an agile, multidisciplinary team environment, preferably designing and building cloud platforms
• 1+ year of experience as a People Manager
• Experience designing and implementing production-grade, cloud-native microservices and RESTful APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and containerized deployment patterns
• Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, using JDBC and ORM mappers like Hibernate
• Experience with AWS cloud native services and data engineering; DevOps experience with Jenkins CI/CD

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the engineering team; coach and develop direct reports
• Review architecture and designs; contribute to roadmaps and technical strategy
• Collaborate with product teams to identify risks and plan delivery
• Oversee production systems, on-call duties, and incident resolution
• Engage with government stakeholders and clients to align technical initiatives with requirements
• Drive growth of Nava's client portfolio through strategic technical leadership
