Nava Public Benefit Corp. is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead a skilled engineering team in delivering cloud-native solutions for government clients. You will mentor engineers, contribute technically, and guide cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software at scale.

This remote-friendly role emphasizes inclusive leadership, long-term thinking, and collaboration with product, security, and client stakeholders to drive architecture and delivery across multiple contracts.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of experience in an agile, multidisciplinary team environment, preferably designing and building medium to large-scale on Cloud platforms.
• 1 or more years experience as a People Manager
• Experience designing and implementing production-grade, cloud-native microservices and RESTful APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and containerized deployment patterns
• Experience with relational databases, preferably Postgres, using JDBC and ORM mappers like Hibernate
• Experience with DevOps, preferably with Jenkins CI/CD
• Experience utilizing AWS cloud native services and data engineering
• Tenacity to dive into problems and iterate on working code
• Highly resourceful, reliable, and detail-oriented
• Ability to think strategically around trade-offs and long-term benefitsAn adaptive, empathetic, collaborative, and positive mindset
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, technical and otherwise
• Prior experience working with stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering teams on planning, estimation, prioritization, trade-offs, and balancing technical debt.
• Review architecture and designs from other project teams
• Design technical roadmaps and enforce architecture standards
• Maintain production systems and handle on-call duties
• Write code and perform code reviews
• Collaborate with cross-functional product teams to mitigate technical risks
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to align technical initiatives with business goals
• Guide growth of Nava’s client portfolio through strategy and technical requirements
