Job summary

CLEAResult is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a team of 10–15 engineers across multiple energy programs in the Midwest. You will guide technical direction, manage budgets, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver cost savings and emissions reductions for end-users.

The role emphasizes leadership, program design, and strategic planning, with travel up to 25%. A mechanical/electrical/civil/environmental engineering background and 10+ years in energy consulting are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, civil or environmental engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in energy efficiency and/or sustainability consulting.
• Minimum of 8 years of people management experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills; VBA a plus.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, interpersonal, written).
• Exposure to building and system modeling software a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across audits, evaluations, HVAC, M&V, RCx, refrigeration, and related areas.
• Lead updates to templates, tools, and procedures reflecting client requests and industry developments.
• Oversee team workload to ensure timely, high-quality delivery of client projects.
• Mentor and grow engineering talent, fostering continuous learning and career advancement.
• Develop and negotiate engineering scopes of work and budgets for opportunities.
• Foster strategic relationships with engineering leadership and regional peers.
