Job summary

CLEAResult is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a 10-15 person engineering team across a portfolio of energy efficiency programs in the Midwest. You will drive technical leadership, client engagement, and program delivery while managing budgets and resources.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in energy efficiency or sustainability consulting, 8+ years in people management, and strong communication skills. A focus on continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, civil or environmental engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in energy efficiency and/or sustainability consulting.
• Minimum of 8 years of people management experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills; VBA is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Experience with building and system modeling software is a plus (Energy Plus, eQuest, JMP, NEO, TraneTrace).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate technical leadership across audits, HVAC, M&V, RCx, refrigeration, and tool development.
• Direct updates to templates, tools, and procedures per client requests and industry changes.
• Lead engagement with evaluation contractors and utility clients.
• Guide team members in applying technical knowledge effectively.
• Oversee workload and ensure timely, high-quality project delivery.
• Mentor and grow engineering talent and career development.
• Develop scope and budgets for business development opportunities.
