Job summary

CLEAResult seeks a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a 10–15 engineer team across multiple programs in the Midwest. You will drive technical direction, manage budgets, and mentor engineers to deliver cost savings and emissions reductions for diverse clients.

The role requires a mechanical/electrical/civil/environmental engineering degree, 10+ years in energy efficiency consulting, and 8+ years of people management. Travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, civil or environmental engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of energy efficiency and/or sustainability consulting.
• Minimum of 8 years of people management experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills - VBA a plus.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, interpersonal, and written).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Exposure to building and system modeling software (EnergyPlus, eQuest, JMP, NEO, TraneTrace or similar).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate Technical Leadership and guide team in audits, evaluations, HVAC, M&V, RCx, and related areas.
• Oversee team workload and ensure timely, high-quality client projects.
• Mentor and grow engineering talent through coaching and career development.
• Manage financial and operational resources and control expenses.
• Lead scope and budget development for opportunities.
• Foster strategic relationships with leadership and clients.
• Drive program improvement and efficiency initiatives.
• Influence program design with industry expertise.
• Recruit and develop engineering talent.
• Communicate technical insights to clients and leadership.
• Travel up to 25% for client-facing activities.
