Job summary

CLEAResult is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a team of 10–15 engineers across multiple energy programs in the Midwest region, emphasizing cost savings for end-users and emissions reductions.

You will guide technical leadership across audits, HVAC, M&V, and tool development, while overseeing budgets, client engagement, and program improvement. A strong track record in energy efficiency and team growth is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, civil or environmental engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in energy efficiency and/or sustainability consulting.
• Minimum of 8 years of people management experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills – VBA a plus.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, interpersonal, and written).
• Motivation for fast-paced environment and growth.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to create growth opportunities for team members.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Exposure to building and system modeling software: EnergyPlus, eQuest, JMP, NEO, TraneTrace or others.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate technical leadership in audits, evaluations, HVAC, M&V, RCx, refrigeration, or related areas.
• Update templates, tools and procedures to reflect client needs.
• Lead engagement with evaluation contractors and utility clients.
• Mentor and grow engineering talent within the team.
• Oversee workload and ensure timely, high-quality project delivery.
• Manage scope and budgets for engineering opportunities.
• Foster strategic relationships with engineering leadership and regional peers.
• Travel up to 25% for client meetings and project support.
