Job summary

CLEAResult is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a 10-15 engineer team across a portfolio of energy efficiency programs in the Midwest, with emphasis on several states including Minnesota. You will drive cost savings for end-users, guide technical strategy and manage budgets and client relations.

The role emphasizes leadership, program improvement, and cross-functional collaboration, with a focus on reducing emissions and delivering high-quality projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, civil or environmental engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in energy efficiency and/or sustainability consulting.
• Minimum of 8 years of people management experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills - experience with VBA a plus.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate technical leadership in audits, HVAC, M&V, RCx, refrigeration, tool development.
• Oversee team workload and project execution to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
• Mentor and grow engineers, fostering continuous learning and career advancement.
• Manage team labor and operating expenses, maintaining variance to plan.
• Lead scope and budget development for opportunities; ensure client alignment.
• Foster strategic relationships with engineering leadership and regional peers.
• Drive strategic planning and program improvement within the engineering organization.
• Influence program design through industry expertise to improve performance.
• Recruit and develop talent through interviews, onboarding and training.
• Champion process improvements within the team and across the organization.
• Communicate technical insights regularly to clients and stakeholders.
• Provide continuous feedback to leadership and team members.
• Travel up to 25% for client-facing meetings and project support.
