Job summary

CLEAResult is hiring a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a team of 10–15 engineers across Midwest energy programs. You will drive cost savings and emissions reductions while managing scopes of work, budgets, and client relationships.

You will mentor engineers, shape program delivery, and apply industry knowledge to improve performance and efficiency. This position requires travel up to 25% and a strong leadership track record.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, civil or environmental engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in energy efficiency and/or sustainability consulting.
• 8+ years of people management experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills – VBA a plus.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written).
• Motivation to work in a fast-paced environment; strong organization.
• Demonstrated ability to create growth opportunities for team members.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Exposure to building and system modeling software such as EnergyPlus, eQuest, JMP, NEO, TraneTrace.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on audits, evaluations, HVAC, M&V, RCx, refrigeration, and tools.
• Lead updates to templates, tools, and procedures per client requests.
• Oversee team workload and ensure timely, high-quality project delivery.
• Mentor engineers and support career growth.
• Develop and negotiate scopes of work and budgets for opportunities.
• Build strategic relationships with engineering leadership and peers.
• Drive program improvements and share industry insights.
• Lead hiring, onboarding, and training for the team.
• Communicate progress and technical updates to clients and leadership.
• Travel up to 25% for client meetings and project support.
