Job summary

CLEAResult is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a team of 10–15 engineers and oversee a portfolio of more than 85 gas and electric programs across the Midwest, with a focus on Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, and Wisconsin. You will drive technical leadership, project delivery, and client engagement to deliver energy savings and emissions reductions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, civil or environmental engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in energy efficiency and/or sustainability consulting.
• Minimum of 8 years of people management experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills - VBA a plus.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, interpersonal, and written).
• Willingness to travel up to 25% for client-facing work.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate technical leadership and provide expertise in audits, evaluations, HVAC, M&V, RCx, refrigeration, tools development, and related areas.
• Oversee team workload and ensure timely, high-quality delivery of client projects.
• Mentor and grow engineering talent and foster a culture of continuous learning.
• Manage financials and operating expenses, and allocate resources effectively.
• Develop scopes of work and budgets for business development opportunities.
• Build strategic relationships with engineering leadership and regional peers.
• Lead strategic planning and program improvement initiatives.
• Influence program design through industry knowledge and emerging technologies.
• Recruit and develop talent through coaching and training.
• Champion process improvements within the team and across the organization.
• Communicate technical insights to clients and stakeholders.
• Provide continuous feedback to leadership and team members.
