Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Manager - Software Development Engineering to lead a diverse engineering and change-management team. You will shape a multi-year modernization roadmap, partner with Strategy, Operations and Product, and deliver scalable software for Specialty Pharmacy.

The role emphasizes design, development, testing and delivery of innovative healthcare technology, enabling operational efficiency and value streams while guiding AI-enabled platforms.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software development experience with Agile methodologies.
• 5+ years building microservices using Python/Java (Spring Boot).
• 3+ years leading distributed multi-site/remote teams.
• At least 3+ years with containerization tools (Kubernetes, Docker).
• At least 2+ years on cloud platforms (GCP preferred).
• 1+ years using AI frameworks and generative AI web services/tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, foundational framework and development of Specialty Pharmacy technology assets.
• Assess and improve software engineering practices to boost efficiency and quality.
• Lead and mentor engineering teams across geographies and time zones.
• Manage people: hiring, performance reviews, coaching and career growth.
• Collaborate with Business, Product and Tech partners to support delivery roadmaps.
• Engage with vendors for onshore/offshore staffing and technology partnerships.
• Drive long-term technology strategy with emerging trends in healthcare and tech.
• Travel up to 10% within the United States as needed.
