Job summary

CLEAResult is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a team of 10–15 engineers across Midwest energy-efficiency programs, focusing on cost savings and emissions reductions. You will drive technical leadership and ensure high-quality delivery for government and utility clients.

You'll guide project scope, budgets, and workflows, mentor engineers, and collaborate with leadership to shape program design, leveraging industry best practices and advanced modeling tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, civil or environmental engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in energy efficiency and/or sustainability consulting.
• Minimum of 8 years of people management experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills – experience with VBA a plus.
• Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
• Travel up to 25% for client facing meetings, project support and team gatherings.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate Technical Leadership across programs and teams.
• Provide expertise in audits, evaluations, HVAC, M&V, RCx, refrigeration, tool development and related areas.
• Direct updates to templates, tools, and procedures reflecting client requests and industry developments.
• Lead team engagement with evaluation contractors and utility clients.
• Guide team members in applying technical knowledge effectively.
• Ensure adherence to processes, procedures, and performance standards.
• Oversee team workload and project delivery quality.
• Mentor and grow engineering talent; support career development.
• Manage labor and operating expenses; allocate resources for projects.
• Develop and negotiate engineering scopes of work and budgets for business development.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with engineering leadership and clients.
• Drive program delivery improvements and process enhancements.
• Influence program design through industry expertise.
• Recruit and develop talent; lead hiring and onboarding.
• Communicate technical insights to clients and leadership.
• Provide continuous feedback on goals and milestones.
• Travel up to 25% for client meetings, project support and team gatherings.
