Job summary

Nava Public Benefit Corp. is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead and grow a technical team while contributing as a senior engineer.

You will guide architecture, standards, and delivery across cloud-native microservices built with Java and Spring Boot, running in containerized environments. You will mentor engineers, collaborate with product teams, and ensure timely delivery of secure, scalable platforms for government partners.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years in agile, multidisciplinary teams, preferably designing and building cloud platforms.
• Experience designing production-grade cloud-native microservices and RESTful APIs with Java, Spring Boot, and containerized deployment.
• Experience with PostgreSQL using JDBC and ORM like Hibernate.
• Experience with DevOps, preferably Jenkins CI/CD.
• Experience utilizing AWS cloud-native services and data engineering.
• Ability to think strategically about trade-offs and meet security/clearance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Writing code and performing code reviews in a hands-on capacity.
• Writing and reviewing technical specifications for projects.
• Partnering with cross‑functional product teams to identify and mitigate technical risks.
• Guiding engineering on planning, estimation, prioritization, trade-offs, and balancing debt with milestones.
• Reviewing architecture and designs from other teams.
• Strategizing with leadership to grow projects and client base.
• Attending conferences and networking with potential clients.
