Nava Public Benefit Corp. seeks a Software Engineering Manager to lead a technical team delivering cloud-native microservices and RESTful APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and containerized deployments.

You will guide career growth, review designs, and align delivery with Nava’s mission while collaborating with product, users, and government partners to build reliable, scalable solutions in a remote, national context.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in agile, multidisciplinary teams designing cloud platforms
• 1+ years experience as a People Manager
• Experience designing production-grade cloud-native microservices and RESTful APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and containerized deployment patterns
• Experience with relational databases (Postgres) using JDBC and ORM mappers like Hibernate
• DevOps experience, preferably with Jenkins CI/CD
• Experience utilizing AWS cloud-native services and data engineering
• Strong problem-solving, reliability, and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder experience

Responsibilities

• Write code and perform code reviews
• Write and review technical specifications
• Collaborate with cross-functional product teams to mitigate technical risks
• Guide engineering on planning, estimation, prioritization, and balancing debt with milestones
• Review architecture and designs from other teams
• Design technical roadmaps
• Propose and enforce technical architecture
• Maintain production systems
• Handle on-call duties and resolve issues
