Coinbase, Inc. seeks a Senior Compliance AI Engineer to embed with Compliance leadership, driving automation across transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, regulatory change management, and audit-ready data handling.

Prototype on Coinbase's AI platform, define the compliance automation roadmap, and ensure outputs are traceable, auditable, and governance-compliant with human-in-the-loop controls and clear build-vs-buy decisions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years shipping production systems in ambiguous, stakeholder-heavy environments.
• Hands-on experience deploying LLM-based applications with prompt engineering and guardrails.
• Ability to translate complex regulatory workflows into engineering requirements.
• Experience in compliance-tech or financial services is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Embed with Compliance leadership to surface automation opportunities.
• Prototype using Coinbase's AI platform and evaluate builds.
• Own the Compliance automation roadmap with leadership, translating workflows into engineering requirements.
• Define the build-vs-buy strategy for Compliance tooling.
• Ensure automation outputs are traceable, auditable, and defensible to regulators with human-in-the-loop controls.
• Drive adoption through brown-bag sessions and feedback loops.
