OneEnergy Renewables in the United States seeks a Sr. BESS Manager to lead the battery energy storage engineering function.

This hands-on, senior role requires designing DG and utility-scale BESS systems, guiding projects through construction and commissioning, and aligning with PV processes, tools, and standards. As a bridge across Development, Preconstruction, Finance and Engineering, you will establish standards, manage equipment sizing, CAPEX, and vendor relationships while ensuring safety

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical, mechanical, or related engineering field.
• PE license or near-term licensure path.
• 6+ years in professional engineering, construction, or land development with BESS focus.
• Experience taking multiple DG and/or utility-scale BESS projects through full construction and commissioning.
• Experience selecting, sizing, and procuring BESS equipment across multiple OEMs and integrators.
• Familiarity with NEC, NESC, NFPA 855, UL 9540/9540A for energy storage.
• Experience leading RFP responses and interconnection with utilities and AHJs.
• Experience managing internal engineering resources and direct reports.
• Strong communication and negotiation with offtakers, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented, high integrity, able to manage multiple projects.
• Willingness to contribute to a culture of trust and accountability.
• Roll up your sleeves attitude, integrity, credibility, professional responsibility.
• Ability to travel and access sites with valid driver’s license.

Responsabilités

• Define and maintain BESS design standards, templates, and workflows and keep current with PV standards.
• Establish workflow for tracking BESS status, tiering, and prioritization across strategies.
• Lead DG and utility-scale BESS plant design; review high‑voltage substation and MV drawing packages.
• Lead design and modeling discussions across the engineering team and consultants.
• Lead BESS CAPEX sizing, equipment, guarantees, warranties, and cost estimates.
• Drive equipment selection and pricing with Preconstruction; manage key vendor relationships.
• Maintain safety standards and NFPA 855, NEC Article 706, NESC, UL 9540/9540A compliance.
• Lead BESS RFP responses with internal resources and vendor data.
• Provide feedback on System Impact and Feasibility Studies as needed.
• Bridge Development, Preconstruction, Finance, and Engineering; hand off equipment selections.
• Support Development team on community outreach, permitting, and pipeline planning.
