Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Senior BESS Engineer to lead design, development and optimization of battery energy storage projects.

This fully remote role provides strategic direction and engineering oversight to ensure performance, safety and reliability across projects. You will mentor engineers, review feasibility studies, coordinate with fire protection and utility teams, and ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE 1547, NFPA and other standards while supporting procurement, testing and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; Master's preferred.
5+ years in electrical engineering focusing on BESS or power systems.
Expertise in design, integration, and optimization of battery energy storage systems.
Knowledge of BESS control strategies, and grid interconnection equipment.
Familiarity with codes/standards (NEC, IEEE 1547, NFPA, utility standards).
Experience with PSS/E, PSCAD, and SCADA/EMS communication protocols.

Responsibilities

Serve as SME for BESS engineering scopes and provide technical direction.
Lead design and engineering of battery energy storage systems and augmentation provisions.
Review feasibility studies and system sizing to recommend configurations.
Coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams including electrical, civil, and SCADA.
Mentor engineers, manage vendors, and ensure timely delivery.
Support procurement, testing, commissioning, energization, and synchronization.
Stay current with industry standards and support business development.
