Job summary

Blue Origin seeks an experienced Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineer for the Engineering Center of Excellence Electromagnetics team. You will lead EMI/EMC testing, develop verification strategies, and ensure spaceflight‑safe EMI/EMC integration across avionics systems.

Minimum 5 years in EMC/EMI testing, with MIL-STD‑461G DO‑160G and related standards. Relocation provided; travel up to 5%. Interviews will include a technical assessment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or related technical discipline.
  • 5 years of hands-on EMC/EMI testing and verification across MIL-STD-461 methods.
  • Proficiency in EMI test automation software and data analysis.
  • Strong systems engineering background with electrical interfaces.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a responsible engineer for EMI/EMC test and verification with MIL-STD-461 tailoring for aerospace platforms.
  • Author EMI/EMC documentation including test strategies, margins, and design rationales with traceability to MIL-STD-461 requirements.
  • Design, develop, and refine Test Plans and Test Procedures for EMI/EMC tests on avionics components and systems.
  • Lead the MIL-STD-461 test suite: CE101/CE102/CS101/CS114/CS115/CS116/RE101/RE102/RS101/RS103.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain EMI/EMC test equipment (receivers, signal generators, LISNs, antennas, probes).
  • Produce high-quality test reports with spectral plots, margins, and pass/fail determinations; document anomalies and dispositions.
  • Troubleshoot EMI/EMC failures and propose corrective actions (filters, shielding, layout changes).
  • Develop EMI design solutions and contribute to system EMC engineering activities.
