Job summary

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience.
• Expert with Python, C, C++11, C++ STL and/or OpenCL.
• Knowledge of Visual Studio, Eclipse or similar IDE and defect tracking tools.
• Experience with RS-485, RS-232, CAN, I2C, SPI, USB.

Responsibilities

• Writes and tests software to support integration of sensors and embedded processors into aircraft or other robotic systems.
• Designs and implements software for prototypes and products with established tools and practices; ensures configuration control.
• Assists in writing system requirements and validation tests; helps select hardware and advise memory/storage needs.
• Supports rapid prototyping and estimating development time to fit timelines and budgets.
• Provides development updates and milestone dates to track progress.
• Troubleshoots complex systems from a software perspective; supports flight test operations.
• Supports transition of development software to production and to certification; participates in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Develops proof-of-concept demos and conducts design reviews.
• Works on complex issues requiring deep analysis; selects methods and criteria for results.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
