Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. in Huntsville, TN seeks a Sr. Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and maintain electrical control systems and components for UAVs, focusing on safety, reliability, quality, and sustainability.

You will perform detailed design, testing, and documentation of electronic and mechanical subsystems, coordinate fabrication and flight-test activities, and contribute to HDL, PCB design, and C/C++ work across RF and embedded platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5–8 years of relevant experience.
• Experienced with Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Familiar with RF, embedded control, FPGA, and power electronics.

Responsibilities

• Operates computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
• Coordinates manufacturing, installation, maintenance, support, documentation and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes and design requirements.
• Inspects completed installations and observes operations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational & safety standards.
• Works with avionics, embedded systems and RF links. Supports Flight Test operations, as needed.
• Troubleshoots complex systems. Documents designs with engineering drawings and written descriptions.
• Performs design and analysis tasks under general supervision and may be involved in developing budgets, estimating labor, material and construction costs.
