Job summary

AeroVironment in Huntsville, AL seeks a Sr. Electrical Engineer to design, develop and maintain electrical control systems for unmanned aircraft.

You will select components, perform detailed design and testing of electronic and mechanical subsystems, and ensure safety, reliability and sustainability in a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities include coordination with cross-functional teams, debugging complex systems, and contributing to budgets and cost estimates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Operates computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
• Coordinates manufacturing, installation, maintenance, support, documentation and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Inspects completed installations and observes operations to ensure conformance to design and safety standards.
• Works with avionics, embedded systems and RF links; supports flight test operations as needed.
• Documents designs with engineering drawings and descriptions; performs design and analysis tasks under supervision.
