Job summary

RTX is seeking a senior embedded software engineer to join the Software Security Sensors and Effectors Department. You will apply Agile development techniques on embedded targets to deliver real-time software for the warfighter, focusing on system integrity across platforms running Linux and RTOS.

The role requires strong C and C++ skills, experience with Linux kernel root file system, and collaboration with Systems Engineering and subcontractors to meet hardware and software requirements.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics and a minimum of 5 years of experience.
• Experience in an Agile and DevSecOps environment developing and maintaining software on an embedded processors/microcontrollers. Experience working in a Linux environment with ability to modify and maintain Linux Kernel root file system
• Experience developing multithreaded applications.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and test real‑time embedded software with application software.
• Work side by side with Systems engineering to support generation of design concept and system architectural documentation.
• Participate in Technical Integration Meetings with subcontractors to ensure selected hardware meets hardware and software requirements.
• Apply embedded principles to the design and development of hardened software applications across Linux-based platforms
