Job summary

RTX is seeking an experienced embedded software engineer to develop and deploy real-time solutions for DoD-grade hardware. You will work on software and firmware design, development, integration, and testing on embedded targets, using C and C++ on Linux and RTOS platforms.

Collaborating with Systems and Hardware teams, you will help define design concepts and system architecture, support requirements generation, and participate in integration meetings with subcontractors. A U.S.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field and 8+ years of experience.
• Experience in an Agile and DevSecOps environment developing and maintaining software on an embedded processors/microcontroller.
• Demonstrated ability to work across Systems, Hardware, and Software teams to debug issues.
• Experience working in a Linux environment with ability to modify and maintain Linux Kernel root file systems.
• Experience developing multithreaded applications.
• Strong knowledge of building and maintaining a code base with CMake and Google Test.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and test real-time embedded software with a focus on system integrity.
• Collaborate with Systems and Hardware engineers to support architectural documentation and requirements.
• Participate in Technical Integration Meetings with subcontractors to ensure hardware and software meet requirements.
• Apply embedded principles to hardened software applications using C/C++ on Linux and RTOS targets.
• Ensure consistency across teams and remove impediments as they arise.
