Job summary

RTX seeks a senior embedded software engineer to design, develop, integrate and test real-time embedded software on Linux and RTOS targets. You will work with systems engineers to decompose requirements and verify hardware meets software expectations.

The role requires C/C++, Linux, multithreading, and the ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. security clearance, with collaboration across hardware, systems, and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics and a minimum of 5 years of experience.
• Experience in an Agile and DevSecOps environment developing and maintaining software on embedded processors/microcontrollers.
• Experience working in a Linux environment with ability to modify and maintain Linux Kernel root file system.
• Experience developing multithreaded applications.
• Experience building up and maintaining a code base built with CMake and Google Test.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and test real-time embedded software with C/C++ on Linux/RTOS platforms.
• Collaborate with Systems and Hardware Engineering to ensure hardware/software requirements are met.
• Participate in Technical Integration Meetings with subcontractors to verify hardware meets requirements.
• Apply embedded principles to hardened software applications and ensure cross-team consistency.
