Job summary

RTX is seeking a senior technical leader to architect, develop, integrate, and verify high-reliability embedded and real-time software for advanced aerospace and defense systems. You will guide software lifecycle decisions, coordinate with hardware and systems teams, and drive technical execution with substantial autonomy.

You'll mentor engineers, lead design reviews, ensure performance, cybersecurity, and safety requirements, and shape long-term program strategy with cross-functional

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 8 years of relevant software experience.
• Experience in C and C++ for embedded and real-time development.
• Experience with RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, VxWorks) including scheduling and drivers.
• Active and transferable U.S. Government issued Secret clearance is required prior to start date.
• U.S. citizenship required for security clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical ownership for embedded software capabilities across design, implementation, integration and verification.
• Break down complex problems and guide teams with minimal oversight.
• Specify and design scalable, secure architectures aligning with cybersecurity and safety requirements.
• Lead system bring-up and integration on ARM-based platforms and peripherals.
• Develop clear technical documentation and drive validation across unit to system level tests.
