Job summary

RON SUNSHINE ASSOCIATES LLC is seeking a hands-on Embedded OS Engineer to own the Ubuntu-based Linux firmware stack for the MK2 drone platform (Qualcomm QRB5165). You will build and harden the OS, ensure security, and ship via automated CI/CD pipelines.

The role requires deep work with Yocto BitBake, systemd, and headless embedded hardware, plus expertise in image recipes, patching, and performance tuning for reliable field deployments.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Yocto/BitBake build system and embedded Linux stack.
• Ability to navigate low-level OS internals, build automation, and image creation workflows.
• Experience optimizing builds, managing dependencies, and ensuring reproducible CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the Yocto-based Linux firmware stack (qti-ubuntu-robotics-image) for MK2 drones.
• Develop and maintain .bb/.bbappend recipes and patches against upstream BSPs.
• Tune build performance and manage sstate-cache and Jenkins agent resources.
