Job summary

KingRecruitingServices is seeking a hands-on Embedded OS Engineer to own the Ubuntu-based Linux firmware stack for the MK2 drone platform (Qualcomm QRB5165). You will build, secure, and ship the OS through automated CI/CD pipelines in a headless embedded environment.

The role requires navigating low-level OS internals, Yocto BitBake, and managing image recipes, patches, and sstate-cache across Jenkins agents to ensure reliable, deterministic builds.

Qualifications

• Experience with embedded Linux and Yocto/BitBake tooling.
• Familiarity with kernel-level OS internals and headless hardware.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated build systems.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain Ubuntu-based Linux firmware stack for MK2 drone platform.
• Write and maintain Yocto recipes, patches, and image configurations.
• Debug build pipelines, optimize build times, and manage package selections.
• Implement OS hardening, post-processing, and security patches on embedded rootfs.
• Maintain Jenkins CI/CD pipelines for Yocto firmware images and artifact management.
• Configure system services, networking, and telemetry for headless devices.
• Support fleet health monitoring dashboards and export metrics.
