Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer – SME to act as a technical authority for electrical infrastructure supporting hyperscale, colocation, AI/HPC, and mission-critical facilities. You will shape electrical strategy from utility interconnection through the IT load, providing direction, independent reviews, client guidance, and mentorship.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering; Master's preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction is required.
• Typically 15–20+ years of professional electrical engineering experience in data centers or mission-critical facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical architecture and basis of design from utility service to IT load.
• Provide senior technical leadership for MV/LV distribution, substations, UPS, and power distribution.
• Review and lead power studies (short-circuit, load-flow, arc-flash) using ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower.
• Guide design, governance, and project delivery across global teams.
• Support commissioning and FAT/SAT for critical-power systems.
