Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer – SME to serve as a technical authority for electrical infrastructure supporting hyperscale data centers and mission-critical facilities. You will shape electrical strategy from utility interconnection through IT load, sharing guidance with clients and teams.

You will lead MV/LV distribution, transformer and generator plants, UPS systems, and high-density power layouts while reviewing calculations, drawings, and equipment selections to ensure

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from ABET-accredited program (Master's preferred).
• PE License in at least one U.S. jurisdiction is required; NCEES record preferred.
• 15–20+ years of professional electrical engineering experience, especially in data centers or mission‑critical facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical architecture and major design decisions from utility service through IT load.
• Provide senior leadership for MV/LV distribution, substations, transformers, switchgear, generators, UPS, and high-density power distribution.
• Conduct or review power studies (load flow, short-circuit, arc-flash, protective coordination) using ETAP/SKM/EasyPower.
• Support project delivery from concept to turnover; lead RFIs, field conditions, substitutions, and technical changes.
• Provide FAT/SAT and commissioning support for critical electrical infrastructure.
• Lead AI/HPC electrical strategy development for GPU-dense environments and evolving architectures.
• Develop standards, reference designs, and governance programs; mentor engineers.
