Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical SME to lead power systems strategy for hyperscale data centers. You will oversee MV/LV distribution, UPS topology, generator paralleling, and switchgear selection, guiding design-build delivery and client engagements.

You will mentor engineers, contribute to standards, and present at industry events while ensuring NEC/NFPA/IEEE compliance across programs. Hybrid, nationwide opportunities in the US.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree required.
• Professional Engineer licensure in at least one US state; active licensure essential.
• 20+ years of professional electrical engineering with 15+ years in data center/critical facilities.
• Deep expertise in MV/LV distribution, UPS, generator paralleling, and transfer switching.
• Proficient with ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower; arc flash analysis per IEEE 1584; load flow studies.

Responsibilities

• Lead upfront power systems planning for hyperscale data center programs with architecture and utility interconnection.
• Oversee design of MV/LV distribution, UPS topology, generators, switchgear, PDUs, busways, and protective coordination.
• Provide technical governance across disciplines; review calculations, drawings, and submittals for code compliance.
• Engage in business development, client workshops, and industry forums; supporting RFP responses and presentations.
