Job summary

Jacobs is hiring for a Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in data center power systems. You will shape electrical infrastructure from utility interconnection to IT receptacles, leading MV/LV distribution, UPS topology, generator paralleling, and switchgear design for hyperscale programs.

The role blends technical authority with client-facing leadership, coaching, and involvement in strategic pursuits across a portfolio of critical facilities.

Qualifications

• PE licensure active in at least one U.S. state.
• 20+ years of professional electrical engineering experience, with 15+ years in mission-critical data center or advanced technology facility design.
• Proficiency with power analysis tools ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or EasyPower.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP, Bluebeam, BIM 360 or Autodesk Construction Cloud.

Responsibilities

• Lead upfront power systems planning for hyperscale clients, defining MV/LV distribution, redundancy strategies, and utility interconnection.
• Oversee power chain from MV switchgear to UPS, generators, transfer switches, PDUs, and busways; perform short-circuit, arc flash analysis and load-flow studies.
• Provide technical governance across disciplines, review calculations/drawings, support commissioning and IST for critical power systems.
