Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior electrical engineering leader for its Nuclear Power Group in the United States. The role involves guiding a group through all project phases, coordinating multi-discipline interfaces, and delivering comprehensive electrical design changes for nuclear plants.

A strong client liaison and experience with MV/LV systems are essential. The position features a hybrid work arrangement with three days in the office and two remote days, and offers a broad benefits

Qualifications

• BSEE degree from ABET-accredited program.
• 10+ years’ experience in the design of electrical engineering systems for nuclear power plants.
• 3+ years experience leading an engineering design group through all phases of a project design.
• Experience in the selection of equipment, materials, and the preparation and assembling of engineering design change packages, calculations, and specifications.
• Experience with serving as firm/client liaison in a support or lead engineering role.
• Experience with electrical system design including low and medium voltage distribution systems (transformers, generators, motor, relays, etc…).
• Effective written and verbal communication skills to convey information to project team members and client.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Detail oriented approach to work.
• Capable of being badged for unescorted access to a nuclear station.
• PE Licensure is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead efforts by group members to complete electrical engineering deliverables meeting technical, quality, and budget expectations.
• Define scope of work and deliverables (calcs, specs, drawings, design change).
• Review progress and track to maintain project scope/budget and inform client.
• Lead detailed design phases and interface with other disciplines.
• Develop project scope, cost estimates, and schedules for complex nuclear modifications.
• Prepare proposals for complex modifications at nuclear plants.
• Provide technical oversight across design change packages, calculations, and specs.
• Interface with the client to validate scope and ensure satisfaction.
• Mentor and develop the group.
• Identify client needs for strategic opportunities.
• Leverage relationships to develop follow-on work.
• Prepare/Coordinate multi-discipline proposals.
